
Nathalie Maheux
Nathalie is a dedicated and resourceful Early Childhood Educator who has been a member of the Curzon teaching team since 2002! As Curzon’s French specialist, Nathalie brings her language and culture to the classroom creating a natural French immersion environment for the children. Her love of children is obvious in the tender and patient way she helps them form their first words and sentences in French.
Originally from Quebec City, Nathalie has a Bachelor degree specializing in Child Psychology from l’Université de Montréal and made it part way through a Master’s Degree in Social Work before interrupting her studies to raise her two children. Nathalie has worked with children during her research as well as been employed in a number of early child education settings.
In addition to French, Nathalie also keenly shares her interest in physical fitness and the virtues of a healthy lifestyle as Curzon’s gym teacher. Her weekly gym class, held partly in French, provides a good opportunity for the kids to be active, have fun and learn good sportsmanship!
Her passion for hiking brought her to walk the Alps, the Camino de Santiago and the Himalayas. She has also been running the streets of NDG for over 25 years.
Nathalie has travelled extensively and always seeks opportunities to meet children from local schools and to create connections between them and her Curzon kids. She brings her sense of adventure and the love of learning to the classroom. She is an asset to the team and a well-loved member of the Curzon family!

Milena Borova
Milena brings nearly 20 years of experience working with preschool-aged children, including 6 years at Curzon, where she has become a beloved and trusted educator. With a BA in Child Studies from Concordia University, she is dedicated to creating a caring, nurturing, and respectful environment that allows children to thrive. Milena’s passion for art is at the heart of the Art program at Curzon, where she fosters creativity and self-expression among young learners.
In addition to her role at Curzon, Milena is a proud co-owner of Peek A Boo Activity Center, where she collaborates with an artist to develop an enriching art program for preschoolers. This program encourages self-expression, strengthens fine motor skills, and supports emotional well-being, helping children build confidence and a positive sense of self.
Outside of her work, Milena is a passionate advocate for outdoor play and staying active. Whether it’s swimming or exploring nature, she believes in the importance of encouraging children to connect with the world around them, promoting both physical health and mental well-being.

Valerie
Valerie is our dedicated music specialist at Curzon, where she has crafted an engaging program that fosters a love for music and movement. She holds an Early Childhood Education DEC from Vanier College and currently serves as an Early Childhood Educator for the Young Parents’ Program at Head & Hands.
Valerie’s educational philosophy emphasizes creating a nurturing environment where children feel heard, supported, and co-regulated through a calm and affectionate presence — meeting their curiosity with curiosity.

Lara is a former elementary school teacher with a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto. With four years of experience teaching Special Education to children with autism in the English Montreal School Board, she has developed a teaching approach that emphasizes play, social-emotional learning, relationship-building, and nature.
Passionate about helping children channel their energy in positive ways, Lara created and has been implementing a yoga and mindfulness program for children aged 2-5 at various daycares and community centers throughout Montreal for the past two years. Her aftercare program, The Yoga Tree, focuses on yoga poses, breathing exercises, self-regulation, outdoor play, and creative expression, providing young children with the tools to manage emotions, build confidence, and connect with nature.
